Taungaroa began his acting career in 1994 playing Boogie in the critically acclaimed "Once Were Warriors".

He has since appeared in a number of New Zealand features, including "Whale Rider", television dramas and short films. He is about to start work acting in a new New Zealand feature, "No.2".
